The Community Action Network (CAN) seeks to foster the empowerment of people living in poverty and their allies, who wish to have their voices heard, through collective organizing and action. Participants meet to discuss current events & social justice issues and to work together to create positive change within the community. The Community Action Network will be resuming it's monthly drop in meetings on teh first Wednesday of the month starting on April5th. These drop in meeetings will be discussion meetings where community members can discuss a pre picked topic of interest to participants. The April topic will be "Community: What does it mean to you?"
The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Wednesday meetings focus on the Housing Outreach Campaign that CAN has been working on since January 2016. If you are interested in joining the housing outreach committee meetings please contact Beth at 613-267-6428 x4.
The group meets Wednesdays from 10-12 at the Table with a free lunch following, however location and times may vary due to activities and events the group is participating in.
Currently the group is working on a Housing Outreach Campaign and is primarily focused on the planning and implementaion of their outreach, the first phase of which will be completed in March of 2017.
