Winter is a time of year when everyone is longing for fresh greens. Growing soil sprouts can add fresh greens for a very low price with minimal equipment. During this workshop participants will learn the difference between various sprout growing techniques with a focus on soil sprouts. Everyone will have a chance to plant a sample tray to take home. We will talk about sourcing seed, soil and troubleshooting. You will learn all that is necessary to have a sprout garden ready for harvest in 7 to 10 days all winter long!

Joanna Kowalczyk is the Garden Coordinator at the Table Community Food Centre. She has 10 years experience in the horticulture industry. She has been growing food at her farm for the last 8 years and has sold at the Perth Farmers Market, participated in growing for a CSA and once supplied fresh sprouts for the Sunflower Bake Shop. During free time she loves to spend time in her perennial borders or searching for rare to find perennial seeds and plants!
