Updated March 23, 2020

The current coronavirus pandemic is an important public health matter, one we are taking very seriously at The Table. We are particularly concerned for the elderly and those who have chronic health issues that put them at higher risk of serve outcomes of the virus. It is important to base our actions on accurate, factual information and we are turning to the Health Unit for guidance. The situation is changing daily and we want to participate in taking preventive steps to slow the spread of the virus.

We are committed to doing what we can to protect our community while also continuing to provide the services that help people to be healthier. To these ends...

  • Until further notice, the only food programs we are running are the Good Food Bank and Community Meals. These will be operating under different service models. The Good Food Bank will be providing pre-packed food boxes and  delivery service on Tuesdays (detailed hours of operation). The Community Meal will be done as a take out, no pre-ordering necessary and no deliveries..
  • The Advocacy Office will be checking calls (613-267-6428 x 29) and emails (advocacy@thetablecfc.org) but will not have office hours.
  • Lanark Community Programs has suspended the Volunteer Tax Program.
  • Anyone who is experiencing symptoms similar to those of coronavirus is asked to not come to The Table until they are feeling better and a health practitioner has indicated they are not a risk of spreading the virus.
  • Anyone including staff, volunteers and program participants who has traveled internationally is asked to not come to The Table until they have been home for 2 weeks and are not showing any symptoms similar to those of coronavirus.
  • Any volunteers with concerns about their own vulnerability or those in their family should not come in to volunteer. Staff will be filling in where needed.
  • Where possible staff will be workign at home but regularly checking email and voicemail messages.

The main symptoms of the coronavirus  are:

  • fever
  • cough
  • difficulty breathing
  • pneumonia in both lungs
