After School Program
Open to children aged 8 to 11
Tuesdays from 3:45 to 6:30 pm
Sessions run for 12 weeks, twice a year from September – December, and from February - May
In the After School Program we inspire children to grow, prepare and enjoy healthy food, and to better understand our food system.

We are committed to nurturing a generation of healthy food-literate and empowered community members.
We do this through hands-on, interactive and engaging activities using our commercial kitchen and gardens. The program also includes creative projects and physical activities creating a fun, supportive, and safe place for your children to be after school.

Some examples of topics and activities covered in the After School Program:
• Fun in the kitchen! Proper food handling and preparation for a variety of meals
• Gardening! Seed starting and saving, growing together
• What are whole foods and how can we use them? Nutrition in a nutshell
• Where does our food come from? Food systems and eating locally
• Making the most of our budgets: A visit to the Good Food Bank
• Veggie paints and other fun kitchen/garden arts activities!
• Keeping fit with hula hoop fun and other outdoor activities!
